2014 Goal Update: May-July

Goal Update? Oh, yeah...
I looked back and realized the last time I wrote a post about goals was May 3rd. I guess we have a bit of catching up to do. :)

Personal Goals:

  • Get serious about having a regular quiet time.
I'm still reading the Bible (almost) every morning using the scripture references that go along with the sermon series at church.
  • Exercise at least twice a week.
We go on after-dinner walks almost every night, as long as the weather cooperates.
  • Re-evaluate my schedule and responsibilities outside the home.
I think I have the right balance for now.

 Household Goals:
  • Find a Cleaning Routine that works.
I made a cleaning routine I thought would work, but I can't seem to stick with it. Any tips?
  • Purge and organize the basement and garage.
We've been so busy with the garden and chickens, this hasn't happened yet.
  • Finish the Family Room update.
I've decided to put this on hold for now.

Parenting Goals:
  • Read at least one parenting book completely.
    I read Parenting Isn't for Cowards (passed on to us by my in-laws). {Affiliate Link}
  • Choose and memorize at least two Bible verses with Kiddo.
He learned one while we were on vacation, so that makes two. :)
  • Take Kiddo outside to play every day (or if it's too cold or rainy, play an active indoor game).
I love summer! We're really enjoying our outside time.
  • Have at least one play date a month.
Mission accomplished. I love how easy it is to do park play dates in the summer!
Marriage Goals:
  • Schedule an official date night (at home or out) once every month. This has been going pretty well, though our dates have mostly been very informal. In May we had a breakfast date instead of a date night, which was fun. :)
  • Do one special thing for Hubby each month.
Umm... I kind of forgot about this, so I haven't been keeping track.
Blog Goals:

  • Continue blogging throughout 2014.
    So far, so good.
  • Monetize.
I haven't reached a payout yet, but I am enrolled in Google Adsense and Amazon Affiliates. You can read more about them in my disclosure here.
  • Write at least 6 "risky" posts.
My "Change" series met this goal.
  • Design at least 2 free printables.
Goal Met. I have two more in the works, too! You can find my previous printables below:

  • Write at least 2 blog series or challenges.

  • Take better advantage of social media.

    1. Thanks for the encouragement. :) Even if I don't meet all my goals, I still have accomplished more than if I hadn't set them. You definitely should give it a try!
