This Week's Menu Plan: 10/21-10/27

It's hard to believe we're already at the start of another week! Kiddo spent the weekend at his Nana and Grandpa's house while Hubby and I worked on some household projects and enjoyed a night out. After a refreshing weekend, it's time to get back to routine... which means meal planning, of course!
Last week's meals all went according to plan, although I think I switched a day or two. I learned a trick this week from the Pioneer Woman when making our crock pot venison roast. I browned the veggies after I browned the meat, and then put everything in the crock. Caramelizing the veggies added an extra dimension of flavor and gave them a little extra color. I definitely plan on doing this the next time I make a roast!
Last Week's Venison Roast... Yum!
This week, we will continue to plan our meals around the food in our freezer. As I re-organized the chest freezer to fit in venison and garden produce, I discovered several things I forgot I had even purchased (like Tuesday's pork loin and a ham that we'll probably save for Christmas). In addition to the pork loin, the green beans, chicken leg quarters, meatballs, and cheese (for the pizza) will all come from the freezer.
I have to say, there are definitely benefits to working with what we have. Our grocery list is shorter and our bill has been lower!

I originally started this menu plan series to keep me accountable and motivated to meal plan as our busy fall activities began. I feel like I'm back into the routine now, so I am currently debating whether I should continue with menu posts. I would sincerely appreciate some reader feedback. Do you think I should make weekly meal planning a regular feature on the blog? Thank you so much for your input, friends!
