It's hard to believe we're already at the start of another week! Kiddo spent the weekend at his Nana and Grandpa's house while Hubby and I worked on some household projects and enjoyed a night out. After a refreshing weekend, it's time to get back to routine... which means meal planning, of course!
Last week's meals all went according to plan, although I think I switched a day or two. I learned a trick this week from the Pioneer Woman when making our crock pot venison roast. I browned the veggies after I browned the meat, and then put everything in the crock. Caramelizing the veggies added an extra dimension of flavor and gave them a little extra color. I definitely plan on doing this the next time I make a roast!

I have to say, there are definitely benefits to working with what we have. Our grocery list is shorter and our bill has been lower!

I originally started this menu plan series to keep me accountable and motivated to meal plan as our busy fall activities began. I feel like I'm back into the routine now, so I am currently debating whether I should continue with menu posts. I would sincerely appreciate some reader feedback.
