Blogging Giveaway! Blogger-to-Wordpress Transfer Service courtesy of Blogelina

This Giveaway is now closed. Congratulations, Jennifer Renee!

Good morning, friends! Today's post is all about blogging. Perhaps you're not a blogger, but I encourage you to stick around if you know someone who is one and could benefit from this service.

I'm excited to share that the wonderful people over at Blogelina are holding 31 Days of Blogging Deals & Giveaways during the month of December and I have been selected to host today's giveaway!

Blogelina is a website geared toward helping create a profitable blog. I'll be honest and say I haven't taken advantage of this resource as much as I should (mostly due to time constraints), but whenever I head over there, I'm able to find some helpful pointers to improve my blogging and/or productivity.

In addition to e-courses and blog consultations, one of the services Blogelina provides is a Blogger-to-Wordpress transfer service. Blogelina is a huge advocate of using the Wordpress platform and as I've done more research, I can see why. I started on blogger because it was free and I wasn't sure how seriously I would blog. Also, several of my favorite blogs were on that platform (most of which have now switched)

Still, I've been resisting for these reasons.

The Pro's to Using Blogger:

  • It's free - no paying for a domain or hosting services.
  • Simple to use. And I've gotten used to the way it's set up.

Nonetheless, if I want a profitable blog wordpress is the way to go.

The Pro's to Using Wordpress:

  • Less site down-time
  • More control
  • More options for design, etc.
  • You own your content (because it's a free service, Blogger technically owns your blog and content)
  • More likely to show up in search engines.
  • More opportunity for monetizing.

With the time and tech skill involved, I've been hesitant to make the switch. However, Blogelina makes the process easy! They will do the whole thing for you for $149. Considering the headache involved, and that the price includes web hosting for the first year, it's a pretty amazing deal.

If you're still hesitant to spend the $149, you can enter to win a free Blogger-to-Wordpress transfer of your very own! For all the details on this service, click here.

Giveaway Details:
- One Winner worldwide
- Giveaway will run from 6am EST to 11:59pm EST

I'm Not A Home Blogger (And I Need to Stop Trying)

As I mentioned on Monday and Wednesday, I started this blog with the intention of documenting the progress on decorating and organizing our new home. However, since I posted in a few weeks what took eight months to accomplish, I was setting myself up for failure. There was simply NO WAY I could keep up with that kind of pace.

I know that I blog about other things, so it's not like I was trying to be just a home blogger. If that was the case, I probably would have quit a long time ago. Maybe it was the kind of link parties I was participating in or maybe it was the types of blogs I enjoy reading (who doesn't love a good before & after or pretty room?), but in my mind I aspired to blog about decorating and organizing my home.

How Blogging (Almost) Stole My Joy

Monday, I shared with you a little about the process I've been going through as I re-think the purpose, focus, and content at Pinspired Home. This change has been coming for months.
In March and April especially, I was really struggling with my blogging journey. What I had once done for enjoyment had become a total drudgery and source of stress. I kept focusing on my weaknesses and things I wanted to change, but couldn't. And as I compared my blog, projects, and home with others, I became less and less content with my circumstances.

Today, I'm sharing a journal-type blog post I wrote during that time of discontentment. I wasn't sure I would share it, but I thought it would give insight into the changes I'm making and why.

Change Is Coming!

Hi, Friends! This week will be a little different at Pinspired Home. I'll be sharing a series of posts about some changes I'm making to the blog and the journey that brought me there.
Menu Plan Monday will be back next week.

I started this blog with the intention of documenting the progress as I decorated and organized our new home. Those first posts were all projects I had accomplished within the first 8 months we had lived in our home (and some of them are still popular today). The problem was, I just couldn't keep up with that kind of pace.
