Hi, Friends!
Did you celebrate Mother's Day? We celebrated with a family dinner at my parents' house on Saturday night and laid low on the actual day. After church, Hubby made dinner, and then he washed the dishes while I played outside with Kiddo. We had a delicious meal of grilled (fresh, backyard-raised) chicken breasts, oven fries, and green beans. I'm blessed with a husband who knows his way around the kitchen. :-)

This is what my hands looked like after my project. Any guesses? |
This Week's Menu Plan: 5/12-5/18
Monday: Salad Night
Tuesday: Tilapia, Green Beans, Rice or Easy Oven Roasted Potatoes
Wednesday: Meatball Sandwiches, Cauliflower
Thursday: Tuna Wraps, Baby Carrots
Friday: Venison Fajitas
Saturday: Turkey Burgers, Potato Salad, Green Beans
Sunday: To Be Determined.
Have any suggestions? Bonus points if it's a crock pot meal! :)
Freezer Meals:
This week ground turkey is on sale for $1.66 a pound, so I'll be prepping some great freezer meals in addition to these ideas, I'll plan to freeze some turkey burgers and Turkey Gyros. The meatballs we'll eat on Wednesday were frozen from the last time ground turkey was on sale.
Crock Pot:
I'll probably make Apple-Cinnamon Steel Cut Oats in the Crock Pot at some point this week (just because we all like it so much), but other than that, I don't really have any plans to use my crock pot for the week.Recipes I Tried:
Ever since I saw the recipe for Ruth's One-Bowl Brownies at Thrifty Thursday, I knew I had to try them. I finally got the chance to try them, and we enjoyed them. I don't think they'll be my go-to recipes since they were a bit more rich and chocolatey than I prefer, but for a non-box mix, I was pleased with the result. This Week's Re-cap:
A recipe, and a few helpful tips. If you haven't already, you should definitely check out "Gardening on a Budget." It includes some ways to get free plants and materials. Click on the images to check each out:Well, that's it for this week. Have a good one!
I linked up with I'm An Org Junkie for Menu Plan Monday.
I love how you make a set of freezer meals each week to have on hand! Such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kate!
DeleteWhile I don't make freezer meals every week, I stock up and freeze whenever there's a good sale, especially on meat or cheese. We usually eat at least one meal from the freezer each week, though! :)

ReplyDeleteI need to plan my meals like this every week - how do you make a grocery list, the weekend you plan your meals for the week or do you go that Monday? Also, how many times per week do you grocery shop? Budget? I'd love you to write a blog on how you shop and how to stick to a budget, I need help in that area!
ReplyDeleteKelly, I've been thinking I should blog about this for a while, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I guess I'll put it on my list!
