Did you have a good weekend, friends? It was a busy one for us. This little guy turned three on Sunday:
And man oh man, it just doesn't seem possible!
We got together with my family on Saturday for a special birthday dinner, complete with homemade pizza, presents, and an amazing Thomas cake, created by my mom and sister.
They're so talented, right? It puts the simple cake I made last year to shame.
You can expect a short post with more details on our simple and fun birthday celebration later this week.
From the Garden:
In other news, our garden is pretty much done. All we have left to pick are some blackberries, raspberries, cucumbers, peppers, and butternut squash. We're very thankful that our garden was a success and we have enough canned and frozen produce to last us most of the winter. Now we're turning to fall produce: Apples! Our two apple trees produced a grand total of two apples, so we've been doing some pick-your-own trips to a local orchard. Our neighbor also said we could have any apples off their very neglected tree. They're not very pretty, but they'll be just fine for applesauce and cider. (Hubby made a cider press, and I'll be sure to let you know how it works!)
Now, on to this week's meal plan:
Menu Plan Monday: 9/29-10/5
Monday: Dinner Out with Hubby's Boss
Tuesday: Sloppy Joes
Wednesday: Meatball Subs
Thursday: Quesadillas
Friday: Homemade Pizza
Saturday: A Chicken Dish (to be determined)
Sunday: Chicken & Rice Soup
Last Week's Post:
So, what do you have planned for the week? Enjoy it, friends!
