10 Fun Ways to Play with Bubble Wrap: Tips & Tricks Thursday

Welcome back to Tips & Tricks Thursday! This little corner of the blog is devoted to those simple ideas that make life better or easier in some way. :)

The Tip: Bubble Wrap Dance Party!

In the middle of winter, Kiddo and I were bored. It was so cold, and the bad weather never seemed to end! I had a small piece of bubble wrap, so I laid it on the floor, turned on some happy music, and we cut a rug!
Does anyone else forget to snap a onesie and just not bother to fix it? :)

Why I love it:

There's just something so inherently fun about Bubble Wrap. I haven't met a kid or adult who doesn't love it! Kiddo had a blast dancing and got some of his abundant energy out. This is perfect for a day when it's rainy or too cold to go outside.

10 Fun Ways to Play with Bubble Wrap:

All that fun got me thinking about what other things you could do with this amazing commodity. I turned to Pinterest and found 9 other playful uses for Bubble Wrap:

Giver's Log created an adorable Bubble Wrap Hopscotch

Play Create Explore turned a long sheet of bubble wrap into a Bubble Wrap Run.

In Lieu of Preschool shared her experience with Bubble Wrap Painting and Printing and included some great tips if you're going to give it a try.

Mess for Less strapped bubble wrap on her daughter's feet for Bubble Wrap Stomp Painting.

On a related note, how fun are these bubble wrap slippers that Stacy's son made at Not Just a Housewife?  My Kiddo would love some of these!

This bubble wrap sensory slide from Growing a Jeweled Rose is definitely an outside activity, but it looks like so much fun!

Sow Sprout Play made these sweet Corn Suncatchers. I can definitely see myself using the same concept for other shapes. Flowers, maybe? :)

Speaking of flowers, Creative Play Central created these beautiful Bubble Wrap Mosaics. This is a little more involved, but they turned out beautifully! You can check out the other mosaics her kids made on her blog.

Meaningful Mama has three great examples of Bubble Wrap Learning - colors, math and reading. My inner teacher loves this combination of learning and fun! :)

I recently discovered that the Dollar tree carries rolls of bubble wrap with the office supplies. An inexpensive source for bubble wrap? Yes! Now we don't have to wait for a package delivery to have some good old-fashioned fun!

How about you? Do you share a love for bubble wrap? Which of these activities would you want to try?
Have a tip, trick, or simple helpful hint to share? You are more than welcome to submit your idea here. I'd love to include it in a future post!

  1. Yes I do love it, but I {gasp} hoard it in my attic... you know... for a rainy day. ;) Definitely need to give the attic some attention. I never seem to end up needing the stuff I store, thinking I will surely need it "one day".

    1. For the love, Beth! (haha, see what I did there?) Hoarding bubble wrap? If you're not going to use it, I will gladly take it off your hands... ;)
But in all seriousness, I am by nature an "I might need it" type of person too. I'm working to be less and less that way, but I hate to be wasteful too... so it's a process, for sure! What I hate is when I get rid of something and later wish I had kept it! It doesn't happen all that often, but it definitely happens!
Thanks for leaving a comment, friend! It always puts a smile on my face. :)

  3. Wow, these ideas look so fun. I'll have to try some this summer! I'm an elementary school counselor by day and I definitely hoard bubble wrap for kids to pop when they are angry or stressed! Works for adults too!

  6. As amazing as these ideas are for bubble wrap, I actually use it to save money on my utility bills at home. The plastic works like an insulation blanket, I tape it to the windows in the winter to keep the cold drafts out and the warm air inside. I even put a strip around the door frame near the garage entrance. makes a huge difference.
