Create a Toolbox Station - Tips & Tricks Thursday

Look at those chunky little wrists... He's getting so big already!
Welcome back to Tips & Tricks Thursday! This little corner of the blog is devoted to those simple ideas that make life better or easier in some way. :)

The Tip: Make a Toolbox Station.

Kiddo loves his tool set, but I'm not always a fan. The big draw is that he can fix things just like his daddy (or mommy, on occasion), and I love that. What I don't like is how much damage he is capable of doing. Kiddo may only be two, but he can really swing that hammer!
Last summer, when Kiddo used to think that everything in his toolbox was a hammer, I found a way to keep him from hitting the floor, the walls, the furniture, and the hearth... at least most of the time. :) I would line up a muffin tin, an egg carton, a plastic container, and a metal bowl (if I could handle the noise) on a surface for him to "hammer" and let him go to town.

Why I love it:

The different materials each make a unique sound, which holds Kiddo's interest longer. It's a simple and easy way to save our home from abuse, at least temporarily. Eventually, though, the hammer and its friends usually make their way to "toy time out" on top of the refrigerator. :)
Have a tip, trick, or simple helpful hint to share? You are more than welcome to submit your idea here. I'd love to include it in a future post!

    1. You are so sweet, Ashley! Thanks for stopping by.
I'm loving your link party - especially that it's divided by category. It's only one like it that I've seen in my (non-extensive) experience. :)
