But in general, it seems people go with one or the other.
And I totally get you about HOA's. We've been house hunting a few times and an HOA was a deal-breaker for us.
Thanks for stopping by!Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07892307783717028539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6114870469419357731.post-41337025910050673752014-07-05T22:36:31.479-04:002014-07-05T22:36:31.479-04:00There are dual chickens out there!! We're really enjoying keeping chickens, though it's not always fun or easy.
If you were to get all your chickens as chicks, I think you could raise both types together. We've kept our flocks separate, and one day when a few "teenage" meat chicks got loose, our hens immediate went after them pecking. From what I understand, older chickens aren't fans of new ones coming in on their turf.
I have a friend who rents and raises chickens - you definitely need to have an understanding landlord. Can you raise both types together?
Thanks for the insight! You're right - he loves dumping food into their feeder and throwing grapes and other treats in for the the big chickens - they chase each other trying to get them. :) Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07892307783717028539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6114870469419357731.post-24272348253030480702014-06-25T13:28:20.027-04:002014-06-25T13:28:20.027-04:00Very insightful, I bet Kiddo loves helping feed th...Very insightful, I bet Kiddo loves helping feed the chickens!!Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11095673692575204242noreply@blogger.com
